News & Updates

Welcome to my new website and blog!

I’m excited to be able to say “Welcome to my new web site and blog!” Thanks to Xpleo Media for their patience in working with me and for doing a fantastic job building this site. I’ll be posting new works and step by step demos of some of my paintings in pastel and oil.

First I’d like to give you a brief tour of my web site. On the home page you will see a drop down tab on the left where you can click on tabs. The first is my biography, where you can read more about me and how I came to have a passion for painting, despite growing up in a small town devoid of artists and galleries. (That has changed in more recent years.) I want to encourage you to not let your limitations in location or finances hold you back. I spent years working at my kitchen table with no easel and very limited art supplies.

Next you’ll find the paintings tab which drops down to give you the options of viewing paintings of portraits or figures. If you look at the lower right hand corner, you will see SL which is a slide show viewing option and FS which is full screen viewing.

The commissions tab is where you can read about commissioning me to paint a portrait and the process involved. I’d love to create a painting of you or a loved one. I enjoy the challenge of capturing not only a likeness but the essence of the individual that will speak to the viewer and become something the family will cherish for years to come. The subject may also be a beloved pet, including horses, dogs and cats.

The next tab is the store tab. This will take you to my web page on Fine Art America, where you can purchase some of my originals or prints of my paintings and photography. Images can be printed on canvas, paper, metal or acrylic as well as greeting cards. You have the option of selecting the size of the print. There are also matting and framing options available.

Following the store, is the blog tab, which you must have found already if you are reading this. I’ll be sharing works in progress from time to time and the process and supplies I’m using. I’ll also occasionally share works by artists that I admire and have been inspired by.

The last tab is the Contact tab. If you have any questions regarding my paintings, commissions, classes, or just want to leave a comment, please fill out the form and I will respond.

Finally there will be an Art Instruction tab added soon where you can view my upcoming classes and conveniently sign up and pay right here on my site.

Thanks for letting me take you on this tour and for your interest in Jean Hildebrant Fine Art.
